Man Who Went Live on Facebook After Murder Found Dead
A North Carolina man who police say confessed to shooting his wife via Facebook Live was found dead in a South Carolina motel room.
According to CBS News, law enforcement officials tracked Earl Valentine’s cellphone to Richmond, Virginia, on Wednesday morning. Norline Police Chief Taylor Bartholomew said Valentine was visiting his father’s grave.
The chief says police then tracked Valentine’s location to Columbia, South Carolina, where U.S. Marshals found him dead as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Valentine was facing a charge of first-degree murder in the shooting death of his 15-year-old son early Tuesday. Police believe his son died protecting his mother, who was also shot by Valentine.
Valentine kicked in his ex-wife Keisha Valentine’s door, and took to Facebook Live to confess what he had done.
“What’s up everybody? I just killed my [expletive] wife,” Valentine said in the video that has sense been taken down by authorities. “I don’t feel no [expletive] remorse for what I did.”
Keisha and her son moved to Norlina from the Charlotte area to escape her ex-husband’s abuse, Bartholomew said. A restraining order against Valentine expired last month.
Keisha Valentine remains in critical condition.
“I’ve been in law enforcement 20 years and I’ve never seen anything like this, this guy is bragging about it on social media,” Bartholomew stated. “No remorse whatsoever.”
