It’s the latest story of possible police injustice being spread through social media. Two Jonesboro, Ark., officers have been placed on administrative leave after a suspect allegedly shot himself while handcuffed in the back of their patrol car. The family of 21-year-old Chavis Chacobie Carter is casting doubt on the official account of the young man’s death, reportedly of a single shot to the right temple following a traffic stop.

Carter’s mother, Teresa, is demanding answers, citing that her son was left-handed and not at all suicidal. In fact, she contends, he called his girlfriend while pulled over to say he would call her from jail.

“I mean, I just want to know what really happened,” Teresa Carter told WREG-TV.

“That’s all I want to know.”
