Cop Allegedly Punches Pregnant Woman

A Chicago cop has been accused of punching a pregnant woman in the stomach, and the incident was reportedly caught on camera.

The woman told FOX 32 that she was assaulted after laughing at the officer after a suspected drug dealer was able to get away from him.

“As I got ready to walk in my building he punched me on my right side as hard as he can,” said Nicola Robinson who is eight months pregnant.

If the assault isn’t bad enough, Robinson said the white officer hurled racial slurs at her too.

“After he punched me, he presumed to say ‘you black b****, you better be glad I didn’t hit you hard enough to make you lose your f***kin’ baby,” Robinson told FOX 32.

What an unfathomable act of aggression.

The incident happened on the city’s West Side around 5:30 Friday evening. Robinson says she was standing outside with her kids when three officers ran by chasing a man. They couldn’t catch him, so she and others laughed at them.

Robinson’s apartment building has several security cameras. Her manager told her the video clearly shows the officer punching her.

“Not until after I had told him [that a camera was around]. Then that’s when the attitude about him started changing, and he got real quiet, you could tell in his face that he knew that ‘man I have f****d, I have messed up,” Robinson said.

The assault sent Robinson into premature labor. She spent five hours under observation at a local hospital before being cleared to go home.

Chicago police released a statement calling the allegations “very disturbing,” and saying the department has zero tolerance for such, quote, “abhorrent behavior.”

The Independent Police Review Authority is now investigating.
