Who Are You Riding With?: Uber versus Lyft

In the battle of car service, Lyft seeks to raise $500 million to compete with the success of swanky Uber.

Both services are backed by venture capitalists, with Lyft rising in value at $2 billion, more than double its worth following a $250 million fundraising boost, reports the New York Post.

Uber has been winning the ride-sharing race with a $40 billion value. In addition, it’s globally accessible, with 262 cities on its list of service.

Lyft is currently available in only 60, with hopes of expanding to 100 cities in 2015.

This private car service is a competitive field. Will the good-old taxies become a trend of the past?
