No More Red: Bulls Trade Derrick Rose

The New York Knicks have acquired former NBA MVP Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls.

Knicks Center Robin Lopez and guards Jose Calderon and Jerian Grant will head to Chicago as part of the deal that was completed Wednesday.

New York also received guard Justin Holiday and a 2017 second-round pick.

Rose was drafted in the first round by the Bulls in 2008 after playing college ball for Memphis for one season. In 2011, he received the league’s MVP award and was 2009’s Rookie of the Year.

The Knicks have been seeking a point guard and Rose was one of the NBA’s best before multiple knee injuries slowed the former No. 1 pick’s career. He played in 66 games last season, his most in five years, and averaged 16.4 points.
