Son of Ex-Chicago Bear Adrian Peterson’s Dies

The son of former Chicago Bears running back Adrian Peterson has died from cancer.

Peterson’s young son A. J. died earlier Tuesday morning. Last June the boy, then six-years-old, was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a form of inoperable brainstem tumor.

WJCL News reported that Peterson made the announcement of the boy’s passing on Facebook.

Over the last seven months, the internet community has returned the favor helping raise almost $40,000 to help the young boy with his treatments.

At about 3 a.m. Feb. 17, Adrian posted “#Ajsoars is in Heaven, where he belongs… #ajsoar #P3 #MyFirstSuperHero”.

Since then, over 250 people have commented leaving their condolences on his Facebook page and more still on AJ Soars, Prayers for AJ.

Peterson played eight seasons with the Bears. His family has received tremendous online support with his son’s illness, raising nearly $40,000 to help pay for the child’s treatments via web site GoFundMe
