WNBA star Brittney Griner and her fiancée, fellow hooper Glory Johnson, were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct.
Police went to the couple’s Phoenix home after receiving a call about a domestic dispute around 4:30 p.m. when law enforcement arrived, minor injuries were observed on both women but neither needed hospital care. They were released from jail Thursday morning.
In 2014, Griner, 24, led the Phoenix Mercury to the WNBA championship title, and Johnson, also 24, was named to the WNBA All-Star team in 2013 and 2014 with the Tulsa Shock.
The two announced their engagement last August and are scheduled to marry next month.
No statements have been released regarding the incident.
