#BringBackOurGirls: 1 Year Later

Boko Haram

Today marks one-year since 219 girls were abducted in Lagos, Nigeria by terror extremist group Boko Haram.

Around the world, ceremonies are being held to acknowledge that this is still a heavy, unsolved situation and families are mourning the lost of their loved ones.

It has been a year of sadness and frustration as many seek answers to the whereabouts of the school girls. Reports have published sightings of the girls, but none have been found.

According to BBC, Boko Haram states that the girls have been converted to Islam and married off.

With the trending hashtag #BringBackOurGirls, the conversation has stretched wide with hopes that the unanswered and uncertain will become known and Boko Haram will undergo consequences.
