Chicago Youth Chosen to Study Music in Austria
A 12-year-old boy is one of two participants selected from America to study with an international music foundation in Austria.
Joshua Mhoon plays the piano. He will get a chance to know like-minded young musicians from around the world.
Mhoon was selected from approximately 300 talented young applicants from 49 countries to participate as a Music Ambassador in this year’s Allianz Junior Music Camp in Vienna, Austria. The children will receive two rehearsal sessions per day with renowned piano teachers, be part of the concert master class with Lang Lang and other participants of the program and perform concerts for local school children.
Mhoon, who loves classical music, opened for The Jackson’s and Nick Cannon for EBONY’s Power 100 2013 Gala at Lincoln Center in New York. He’s been featured on Public Radio and performed with The Chicago Sinfionietta Orchestra.
Joshua, who is a 7th grader at Quest Academy, is a Gifted member of MENSA International.org.
