Barack Obama’s First Post-President Appearances Start This Week!

We can’t even begin to put into words how much we missed former President Barack Obama.

The 44th President took some much needed and well-deserved time off these past few months. He was either kite surfing on Richard Branson’s private island or relaxing on a yacht with the likes of Oprah, Tom Hanks, Bruce Springsteen and of course, the former First Lady Michelle Obama.

On Monday, Obama’s first post-President appearance will be in his hometown of Chicago. He’ll be speaking at the University of Chicago’s Logan Center for the Arts on political engagement and community service.

According to Obama’s spokesperson, Kevin Lewis, the event will include an audience of students from local universities and schools. Also, six students will get the chance to sit on stage with him. If you’re not able to be in attendance, the event will be televised.

Obama said his mission after serving as President would be to

“engage and work with the country’s next generation of leaders.”

It’s clear that any of Obama’s speaking engagements will have a packed house. But remember he and his wife have publishing deals to write their memoirs about what life was like for them in the White House. Those are sure to be best-sellers.
