Arrest in Murder of Demarius Reed
Two arrests have been made in the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Demarius Reed, an Eastern Michigan University football player who was shot while at an off-campus apartment in an alleged robbery attempt.
Reed was a communications major from Chicago who was seen as an inspiring young man, according to University President Susan Martin in her statement. She thanked the city and campus police for identifying the two suspects, 20-year-old Ed. J. Thomas and 20-year-old Kristopher K. Pratt who were listed on the court reports found on Mlive.com. Both are now facing charges for an open count of murder and armed robbery.
School officials are adding more police officers to help with the off-campus patrols in order to ensure safety at the University.
