12 Killed in Nigeria, Cameroon Suicide Attacks

Suicide bombers killed 12 people in Nigeria and Cameroon over the weekend, the Associated Press reports.

Police are blaming the Islamist terrorist group Boko Haram for the attacks. They say one girl detonated explosives strapped to her body Sunday evening at a military checkpoint guarding an entry to the city of Maiduguri, Nigeria.

All five bombers were killed in the attacks.

Police commissioner Aderemi Opadokun said the girl killed herself along with seven other passengers as they exited a bus to be searched.

A dozen people were injured.
