TLC is Back Like They Never Left with Snoop-Assisted Single “Way Back”
TLC returns to the airwaves with the Uncle Snoop-assisted track “Way Back,” off of their forthcoming album due out this summer.
The group – that now consist of Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins and Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas, are finally set to drop their first and final album since the release of 2002’s ‘3D’, which arrived seven months after the passing of original group member, Lisa ‘Left-Eye’ Lopes.
Crowdfunded by a Kickstarter campaign, June 30th marks the album release date. In an interview with Billboard, Chilli stressed the importance of taking this route was to “have complete creative control. The only people we’ll be talking to and asking their opinion is the fans.” Fortunately, this step out on faith garnered over $430,000 and counting. Contributors have the chance to receive TLC’s music video outfits, an exercise class with Chilli, slumber parties, movie dates, phone calls, and more.
However, even with the release date, the project is still without a name. Their manager Bill Diggins updated their Kickstarter page with the following message “ONE MORE THING….. We need your help…let’s hear your suggestions for the album title! Tionne and Chilli are still undecided so looking to you for inspiration.”
So, for those of you with a few extra coins, head over to the Kickstarter to donate, broke-phi-broke members can jam out to their new track via Spotify below.
