The Weeknd Delivers Haunting Visual for “Secrets” [VIDEO]
Fresh off a sinister video for his Future collab “Comin’ Out Strong,” The Weeknd returns with more eerie cinema in “Secrets.” Directed by Pedro Martin-Calero, the visual for the the disco-infused cut delivers some stunning shots with a vibe that runs contrast to the song’s upbeat tempo.
Futuristic architecture, voyeuristic camera angles, and a leading lady that levitates all bring The Weekend’s “Secrets” to life, but wether or not the Starboy himself has a pulse is for you to speculate. Martin-Calero’s video casts Abel Tesfaye as an observer of sorts, who raoms the hallways of a gigantic building. But we quickly see that the singer isn’t just a watcher, as he proceeds to haunt another man’s women.
Taking its cues from the spooky works of Stanley Kubrik, “Secrets” is an intriguing addition to The Weeknd’s Starboy rollout, which includes music videos for the title track, as well as “False Alarm,” and “I Feel It Coming.”
