T-Pain and Lil Wayne Got that Old Thing Back with ‘T-WAYNE’
Talk about a #ThrowbackThursday.
The year 2008 found Lil Wayne and T-pain at the peak of their careers, during which, they hinted at a release of a joint project. Although the duo linked up for hits like “Can’t Believe it (which I still bump to this day) and “Got Money,” the project never manifested — until now.
Almost 10 years later, T-Pain dropped the long awaited project and released it via SoundCloud. Hinting at the release on Wednesday, “I’m feelin reeeeeaaaaalll spontaneous right now” he wrote on Instagram, and went on to describe the project as a “missing page in the history book.” On Twitter he simply said “Do it?” with an accompanying mock up of the cover art. Followed by a endearing note to his day one fans “This ain’t for y’all new n**gas,” T-Pain wrote on Twitter on May 17. “These the lost files from ’09 and I’m tired of em just sittin on my hard drive. #FreeC5.”

The florida native recently found a hard drive that housed the unreleased collabs, according to a press release. The project features 8 tracks from the artist, with production from Bangladesh, Tha Bizness, and more. Listen to T-Wayne and let us know your thoughts below. Was it well worth the wait?
