Nicki Minaj Refuses to Let Us Forget She’s the Queen
Okay Queen, we see you.
Like her friend and label mate Drake, Nicki Minaj also shined at last night’s Billboard Music Awards.
Highlighting as the show opener, Nicki decided to kick things off with a bang and provide attendees and viewers with a 9-minute performance that got the crowd on its feet. Serenading us with a medley comprised of “No Frauds,” “Light My Body Up,” “Swalla,” and “Regret In Your Tears,” the Queens rapper brought out Lil Wayne, David Guetta and Jason Derulo as accents to her swag.
Nicki’s outfit reigned supreme with a catwoman-inspired bondage look, while the dance moves and fire affects also added to the spectacular ordeal. Although not taking home the Billboard Chart Achievement award, The Pink Print rapper is a four time winner and 23- time nominee. Just last march, she made history by beating out Aretha Franklin’s previous record for most Billboard Hot 100 hits by a woman. Coming out on top with a whopping 75 hits, the Queen of Soul held it down for almost 40 years with 73 chart toppers.
Check out the clip below and head to Billboard for more deets. Also peep a few reactions from Twitter and the “shade tree” they brought with them.
