Mura Masa and Desiigner Dabble in Electro-Trap in their latest “All Around the World”
Mura Masa and Desiigner style on em’ with an eclectic trap and edm mix.
Upon seeing “All Around the World” I was a bit skeptical but rather intrigued. However after tuning in, I was surely glad I did. The electro-trap vibe provides a little variety in today’s mainstream music landscape, which is why I adore what Calvin Harris has been doing lately, collab’ing with Migos, Frank, Pharrell, Ariana Grande, Future, and more.
The “Panda” rapper still sticks to his trademark flow on the track, singing and rapping with his random but well-placed adlibs along the way.
“Thank God I got it/ Thank God I be countin’ this money/ Thank God, thinkin’, livin’, they funny/ Livin’ close, yeah and countin’ these hundreds, oh shit/ I be livin’ life on the ball shit
I’ma cop me a wheel and I ghost it/ Black and white, it’s the panda, the ghost is/ Give a toast to the Grammy’s, I go shit,” he raps.
This follows “1 Night” featuring Charli XC and the A$AP Rocky-assisted “Love$ick” off Mura’s forthcoming self-titled album.
“I figured it was more productive for me to take the role of curator, rather than trying to steer the artists any particular way with lyrics,” Masa shared with Billboard. “I just let them speak about what they wanted to speak about. With A$AP Rocky, for example, he heard [‘Love$ick’], and it reminded him of being in Ibiza every summer, love lost, those sorts of things. [For me], it’s just about placing them in the appropriate position on the album and picking the correct collaborations to build a patchwork of what I wanted to say.”
Mura Masa is due July 14. Check out “All Around the World” below.
