Money Ain’t A Thang. Hov Just Signed a $200 Million 10-Year Touring Deal With Live Nation

I wanna be, I wanna be like Hov.

Who doesn’t want to be like Hov when they grow up? Shawn Carter is 47-years-old and just signed a 10-year worldwide touring deal with Live Nation. Additionally, in January, Sprint invested some major coins in his TIDAL platform. Can we say “money being made ’round here?”

Financial records have not been released but according to Billboard, the Live Nation deal is worth $200 Million. Sprint evenly-matched that number earlier this year, setting HOV up with a clean 400 mill and it’s only May. Way to start off the second half of the year, huh?

The music mogul signed a 360-deal with Live Nation a couple of years back in 2008 that aided him in the launch of Roc Nation. Worth $150 million, the deal included albums, publishing and more. However, 2017’s agreement focuses primarily on touring.

Live Nation and I entered unchartered territory in 2008,” shared Jay Z. “Over nine years, we have traveled the world producing historic music experiences. [Live Nation CEO] Michael Rapino is an industry visionary, and this renewed partnership is a testament to our longstanding relationship and the talented individuals at Live Nation. For the next 10 years, we will continue redefining the live event landscape.”

True to form, this news comes as a hopeful gesture of a Jay Z comeback. Jay is also set to headline Made in America, Meadows, and Austin City Limits this year.
