Mack Wilds Debuts New Video

In the latest actor-turned-singer news, we have Tristan “Mack” Wilds. You may remember him from the HBO hit “The Wire” as Michael Lee, but now the actor is returning to his first love: music. Earlier this week, the 24-year-old, whose stage name is Mack Wilds, dropped the video for his first single, “Own It.”

The video starts off with a bit of acting and showcases Wilds in various places around his hometown of New York. It’s hip-hop/sing-songy melody is a bit reminiscent of Chris Brown, but it’s kind of catchy. The song was written by Wilds and Ne-Yo, who also co-produced the track with SalaAM ReMi.

Wilds is the first artist signed to ReMi’s Re Mi Fa/Louder Than Life imprint group through Sony Music. His debut album, “New York: A Love Story” is expected to be released on Sept. 17. Wilds is scheduled to appear on BET’s “106 & Park” to premiere his video Wednesday evening.
