The Long-Awaited TLC Album Now Has A Release Date!

For the past few months, fans who donated to TLC’s Kickstarter to fund their final album have been asking questions about when and if the album will be released. Well today, they got some good news in the form of a release date.

The group’s manager, Bill Diggins, made the announcement on the Kickstarter page, writing, “Hey Kickstarter Family, The album date is firm, June 30th is the release of the new TLC album that you made happen. Tionne and Chilli have been working night and day to hit this date. The video and a photo shoot on April 18th, 19th, 20th.”

The final TLC album is officially only two months away and Diggins would also like fans to help with the album’s title.

“We need your help. Let’s hear your suggestions for the album title! Tionne and Chilli are still undecided so looking to you for inspiration.”

The Kickstarter fund began in January of 2015 and $40, 255 was raised, but there were delays along the way.

“We would have loved to have delivered this album sooner to you but we are confident that you will agree that it was worth the wait when you hear it,” Diggins wrote. “The pursuit of excellence is never an easy task and always takes longer than expected.”

This final TLC album will be the group’s first since the 2002 death of member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. Also, this summer fans can see surviving members T-Boz and Chilli on tour as they headline the “I Love the 90s–The Party Continues Tour,” with its first date July 7 in Everett, Wash.
