Wether they’ve got platinum plaques or are just a freshman in the game, their isn’t a rapper out there who would wouldn’t love to work with Pharrell. The latest artist to be blessed with a couple beats from Skateboard P is none other than Lil Uzi Vert.

Speaking on his collaboration with Uzi on a recent episode of his Beats 1 radio show, OTHERtone, Pharrell described the music as being reflective of the “newer zones I’m in.” The super-producer also added that the beats he’s produced for Uzi are “that super fresh iteration of where I am and where some of our stuff is right now.”

Just last week, Lil Uzi Vert posted a pic on Instagram with Skateboard P, hinting that the two had some new music in the works. According to Pharrell, the encounter was the very first between the two, but was by no means an accident. Talking with OTHERtone co-host Scott Vener, Pharrell said “I’ve been sort of seeing him just do shit on the scene and he struck me as a guy that’s just not thinking about any kind of rules. Just doing what he likes, good, bad, or ugly. He don’t care, and that, I can relate to.”

Sitting in as a guest on OTHERtone, Lil Uzi Vert was a man of few words during the conversation about his collaboration with Skateboard P. He simply described the unreleased music in one word: “Nuts.”

Uzi recently shared a preview of an unreleased song titled “Sauce It Up” with his fans via Instagram. The snippet of Uzi’s latest banger is a promising sign of what to expect from the rapper’s upcoming album, LUV Is Rage 2.
