Kendrick Lamar’s ‘DAMN.’ Goes Double-Platinum

Can’t stop, won’t stop.

It’s pretty clear that the success of Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. knows no bounds. The Record Industry Association of America recently certified the album as 2x platinum and Kung Fu Kenny took to Instagram to share the exciting news with his fans.  “These murals forever belong to my fans,” he wrote. “You’ve always taken my words above and beyond. Around the world and back again. With trust. I am forever grateful. 2x.”

K.Dot’s double-platinum status is no doubt synonymous with his place on the Billboard 200. After selling 56,000 equivalent album units in its 14th week of availability, DAMN. sits at No. 2 behind JAY-Z’s 4:44. But being on top is not new to the Compton-bred rapper. Earlier this year “Alright” earned a platinum certification and Section.80 along with its standout single “A.D.H.D.” went gold.

Kendrick is currently on the first leg of “The DAMN. Tour” with D.R.A.M. and Travis Scott, and the live show has yet to disappoint. The show-stopper closed out an epic show in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center last night (July 24) and is due to keep the same tour cast through his August 9 show in Los Angeles. Tapping D.R.A.M. and YG  for the second leg, which picks back up on August 11 in Anaheim, the tour will come to a close on September 2 in Miami.

Congrats, Kendrick!
