Kendrick Lamar Just Demanded That We Get ‘Humble’

Kendrick Lamar is officially back and the Campton rapper is on fire.

Just a week after releasing his track, “The Heart Part 4,” Lamar has given us something else to talk about. Yesterday, he dropped his absolutely dazzling visual for his song, “Humble.” Directed by Dave Meyers and The Little Homies; the video opens with Lamar cloaked in a pope-like cloth with his head bowed, and it gets even more insane from there.

The song opens with the lyrics, “Wicked or weakness, you gotta see this” as we snapped to visuals of Lamar and his boys having “The Last Supper” and other visuals of him with his head literally on fire. The incredible cinematography and symbolism is literally a feast for the eyes, especially when the 29-year old rapper calls out photoshop and it’s effect on women. He says, “Show me something natural like ass with some stretch marks.”

Produced by Mike WiLL Made It, the song is basically full of reflections on God, religion and personal growth, it also has a few disses sprinkled throughout which comment on the state of mainstream rap. If you didn’t catch it, K-Dot repeatedly uses Big Sean’s “Lil bitch” ad-lib throughout the entire chorus in “Humble.” Though the Compton rapper doesn’t actually use Big Sean’s name in the song, this might only be the build up for something bigger.

We probably won’t know more until April 7th when Kendrick Lamar’s newest album is rumored to be released. If the tracks and visuals are anything like “The Heart Part 4” or “Humble,” we need to begin preparing ourselves. The album might just break the internet entirely.
