Fifth Harmony Adds Gucci Mane to the Mix on Their Latest Track “Down”
Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui put it “Down” with Guwop on their first release since Camila Cabello’s departure from Fifth Harmony last year.
The former quintet is not new to the hip-hop scene, having linked up with Kid Ink on “Worth It” and Tyga on “Like Mariah” for 2015’s Reflection. Ty Dolla $ign also connected with the crew on “Work From Home,” while Fetty Wap was tapped for “All In My Head (Flex)” and Missy Elliott for “Not That Kinda Girl” off of the group’s sophomore project, 7/27.
In addition to dropping their new release, the group performed “Down” for the first time during Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series live in Central Park. Dabbling in some light choreography, Lauren Jauregui opens the track by describing her ideal mate: “Need somebody with some patience/ Cause you know I’ve got a temperament/ And you’ve got a reputation/ Nothin’ that a little love can’t fix.”
“It’s just like Bonnie and Clyde just walked in/ A gangster and his bride walked in,” Gucci rapped while emerging from a cloud of smoke. “We on the same team and we ballin’/ Got me showin’ off my ring like I’m Jordan.”
