Chance The Rapper Celebrates Over 1.5 Billion Spotify Streams

Chance The Rapper may be putting the finishing touches on his forthcoming project, but his previous effort still appears to be resonating with fans.

Three years after he released The Coloring Book, the Chicago native’s mixtape officially surpassed 1.5 billion Spotify streams.

Chance took to Twitter celebrating the huge accomplishment. “I just went platinum on Spotify,” he wrote while retweeting Chart Data’s original notification.

The Coloring Book was released in May 2016 and featured appearances from Kanye West, 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne, Future and Kirk Franklin. The project previously made history as the first mixtape to win a Grammy Award. Chance took home best rap album, best new artist and best rap performance at the 2017 award’s show. Coloring Book became the first streaming-only album to enter Billboard Top 200 chart.

Earlier this year, Chance The Rapper shared his plans to release a new project in July.
