It’s been five years since the release of Nas’ Life Is Good, and according to Billboard, a new project is on the horizon.

In a recent interview, the Queensbridge hip hop legend confirmed his 11th album is due out this year “for sure.” Although his track “Nas Album Done,” off of DJ Khaled’s Major Key, was only a foreshadow to his current situation, we can expect some surprises prior to the album’s release. “We might do a single but we might do something different,” he shared. Nas plans to add finishing touches to the album at his studio space at the new WeWork-built Mass Appeal headquarters in New York City.

Apart from music, the Illmatic star has most recently dabbled in film. As one of the executive producers behind, The Get Down, which is a must see, he is currently adding two more projects to his resume. In addition to signing up to play Raymond “Sunset” Green in Monster, which also features Jennifer Hudson and A$AP Rocky, Nas Escobar is also working on the pilot for his BET series, “Street Dreams.”

“Even if I don’t look cool in it, I just want it to be real and raw,” he shared with Rolling Stone about the autobiographical TV drama. “I didn’t see this as a full autobiography at first. But I have so much that’s happened in my life already, there was no room for fantasy. I wanted it to be entertaining, but everything from my life seemed to be so strong. It’s all reality. There’s nothing from my life I didn’t want in there.
