Rihanna Launches Foundation Scholarship
Rihanna is not only a stand-out when it comes to artistic expression across music, business, and fashion. The 28-year-old starlet is also using her platform to give back to her Barbadian roots.
In 2012, Rihanna launched the Clara Lionel Foundation (named in honor of her grandparents Clara and Lionel Braithwaite) which raises funds to improve the quality of life for families and students in need. Now, the ANTI artist is expanding the foundation to include the recently launched CLF Global Scholarship Program.
In an eight-minute video, Rihanna shares her vision for improving arts, culture, education, and health in her home of Barbados and globally.
“I don’t think it’s fair that children carry the burden of financial limitations at such a young age,” Rihanna expresses in the video. “We launched the CLF scholarship this year [because]these are basic needs that these children don’t have in these schools.”
