The family of a woman who they claim is being held captive by R&B superstar, R. Kelly, wants an in-person meeting to make sure she’s okay.

TMZ reports that the parents of Joycelyn Savage held a press conference Tuesday near Atlanta with their lawyers to announce a plan to reach their daughter.

The Savages are pushing for R. Kelly to allow Joycelyn to speak to them and have hired a legal team to “seek the safe return” of her because they’re concerned for her health and safety.

When the accusations broke a couple of weeks ago, Joycelyn posted a video saying she was staying with the R&B crooner by choice, and that the accusations were false.

But her family says the video isn’t enough to assure them she’s fine. And because efforts to communicate with members of R. Kelly’s squad have gone unanswered, they’re taking the next step.
