#MommyRecipe with Mama Pam!

My mama is always on the “go” so weekday meals usually require a quick, but tasty “do-it-yourself” fix or a done-in-20-minutes-or-less creation.

But as soon as the weekend rolls by, all of mama’s babies regardless of age are home. The cooking is on and the table is decked with fresh fruit, veggies, mimosa mixtures (kid-friendly beverages for the littles of course) and a divine mommy-designed entree.

While there isn’t a signature dish that mama whips up every year, we all remember family Brunch 2014. Mama Pam made a veggie, sausage and cheese-infused quiche that had even those who had second thoughts about introducing their taste buds to something new, digging their forks in and asking for more. Just saying!

See what you need for this simple, yet delicious recipe below:

What you’ll need…
1 Pillsbury Crescent dough roll
1lb fresh breakfast Sausage
6 eggs
milk
2 cups of shredded cheese of your choice
vegetables (If desired)
1 cup of frozen hash browns (If desired)
9 x 13 inch baking pan

And Action:
Heat oven to 325 degrees
Brown fresh breakfast sausage and crumble in a skillet. Remove from heat and drain off fat.
Mix up 6 eggs with a little milk.
Add 2 cups of cheese of your choice.
If you add veggies, chop fine and sauté them, then place in with eggs and cheese.
If you add the hash browns – you will need to cook them about 10 to 15 minutes longer.
Place cooked sausage into egg mixture and stir.
Roll out Crescent dough into 9x 13 cake pan
Pour Egg mixture into cake pan on top of the dough.
Bake approximately for 45 minutes at 325 degrees. If you added hash brown, bake for about 50 to 60 minutes.
Check the center to make sure it is cooked throughly.
Remove from the oven.
While it is cooling, before serving, you may add a little extra shredded cheese to the top.

Unfortunately, mama gets secretive with her special ingredients:
“Folks will have to find their own “special” cheese flavor/texture!”

And…

When it comes to adding those veggies: “Sorry daughter – have to keep some secret weapons to keep you guys coming home.”
