Holiday Cocktails For Every Party

‘Tis the season to celebrate with a bit of liquid cheer! Instead of focusing on finding the perfect Christmas tree, decorating and wrapping presents, take the time to relax and enjoy a delicious cup of something other than traditional cider or hot chocolate.

Mixologist George Duval of Open Bar Hospitality once again shares his secrets to achieving the perfect holiday sips. From maple & whiskey egg nog to a Black Santa, these four spirited cocktails are sure to leave you festive and in the best of moods. Consider it our gift to you!

Christmas float

“Christmas in a Glass (Spiked Soda Float)”

1.5 oz Ciroc Coco
2 scoops Chocolate Chip Peppermint Ice cream
Top off with Cola
Whip Cream
Sprinkles and Peppermint Candy

In shaker place two scoops of chocolate chip peppermint ice cream. Next add Ciroc Coco, cola and whip cream. Garnish with sprinkles and candy cane or peppermint candy.

Black Santa cocktail

“Black Santa (Stout Drink)”

1oz Bulldogs Gin
1oz Kahlua
.5 oz agave nectar
5 oz Guinness

In shaker place gin, Kahlua, and agave. Shake and strain into beer glass. Top off with Guinness.

Whiskey egg nog

“Maple & Whiskey Egg Nog”

1 egg white
1 oz heavy cream
1.5 oz Bulleit Bourbon
.5 oz almond milk
.5 oz maple syrup
Grated nutmeg & cinnamon
Dollop of vanilla extract

In a shaker, place all the ingredients plus the spring of a bar strainer to act as a whisk. Next, dry shake the cocktail aggressively creating its signature foam. Then, add ice and shake again. Strain content into a glass of your choice, with or with out ice. You may now add additional grated nutmeg.

Ginger cocktail

“Amazing Ginger (Holidays in the Caribbean)”

1.5 oz Wray and Nephew Overproof Rum
.5 oz “Open Kitchen” ginger syrup
.75 oz lime juice
Top off with ginger beer

In shaker place “Open Kitchen” Ginger Syrup, lime, and Wray and Nephew Overproof Rum. Strain into high ball. Top off with ginger beer. Garnish with ginger candy.
