Motivational Word of the Week: ‘Gaiety’

n. ˈɡāədē/

-The state or quality of being lighthearted or cheerful

– merrymaking or festivity

– joyousness, liveliness, glee, gladness

An optimistic mindset helps motivate and retain a positive imagination. Let us initiate that in this new month!  Shouldn’t we be glad that life is a trip and not a fall? So while we are on this trip, allow yourself to increase that childlike glee.

Smile more, laugh more, HUG MORE, and compliment others and yourself more. Do more of those things that make you feel good inside! It will exude on the outside.

Have you ever seen a child laughing or indulging in an ice cream cone? What about a kid playing in the water on a hot summer day? Their vibrancy and vivacity is sheer joy and enthusiasm or as they say in French, “Joie de vivre” — the joy of living.

As water cleanses the body, let this Word of the Week be a breath of fresh air into your soul. First lady Michelle Obama said it best. “We need to do a better job of putting ourselves higher on our own ‘to do’ list.”

On this months to do list, incorporate receiving and living in the gaiety of life. If no one around you is cheerful or excited about life, let it start with you. Be the change you want to see.

Affirmation of the week:

“I choose to live in gaiety and assurance that it is well with my soul.”
