Matching colors is just the beginning.

There’s a lot we can learn from fashion besides what clothing we should wear every morning. Fashion also teaches us to be detailed-oriented.

Some of fashion’s greatest icons are super detailed-oriented and live a well oiled lifestyle. If you’re ever wondering what it truly means to be detailed-oriented, perhaps you should take some hints from fashion’s most prized community of geniuses. Here are some tips on how to be detailed-oriented as per the fashion elite.

Anna Wintour  – Arrive On Time And Early.

The Devil Wears Prada is all true! It is a known fact that Anna Wintour is always on time to any meeting or fashion show. If the HBIC can get to meetings on time, than so can you!

Cristobal Balenciaga  – Always Make Precise Cuts

Balenciaga was known to be perfect. His clothing drafts to the finished product were always cut to the utmost precision. Each bead was considered as a vessel to his design aesthetic.  If you work in marketing or sales or anything to do with printing, make sure your lines are cut straights, everything is aligned, and evenly distributed.

Calvin Klien – Be Organized And Declutter Your Work Space

Calvin Klien is known for simple and clean designs and a previous employee of CK tells us that he didn’t like color post-it notes all over the office. We agree. They look too tacky and loose track of the actual concept or what really needs to be done at the end of the day. To be detailed-oriented means  to be organize. These attributes are interchangeable.

Iris Apfel – Dressing By The Details

This 95-year-old grandmother isn’ famous for just dressing in bright colors. She once decorated the White House! With over a half of a century worth of clothing and accessories, she is know for matching every shade, even down to the bead! When you have that much detail, it can translate to your professional work ethics.

Kim Kardashian – Get Up Early

Kim Kardashian is known for being obsessed, just to put it simply. She wakes up at the crack of dawn every morning to lead the fabulous life she lives, and she doesn’t even drink alcohol. Being detailed oriented means getting enough sleep so that your brain is always on point.
