Magic Johnson Helping Chicago Youth

NBA legend, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, will be in Chicago this weekend for the Bud Billiken parade, the second largest in the country. But the ex-basketball player won’t be strutting the streets like others. Instead, he’ll be there to enroll students in the Magic Johnson Bridgescape Academy, his program for high school dropouts and at-risk youth.

Founded in 2012 with programs in Atlanta and Chicago, the school provides students ages 13-21 with a free alternative path to earn a high school diploma.  Johnson’s visit goes along with this year’s parade theme – “Education: You are lost without it.”

The parade is Saturday, Aug. 10 and starts at 10 a.m. Don’t miss the chance to learn more about this great opportunity.
