Remember the “Hot Felon”?
No disrespect, but model Jeremy Meeks is clearly doing better than all of us, having gone from a prison cell to the runway.
A Plein Poster Boy
Meeks, 33, is a true American dream story. The one-time convict strutted down the Philipp Plein runway for the second consecutive season, at the Men’s Fashion Week show in Milan. Among the outfits the chiseled and light-skinned bae of the century modeled was a plain black tee and jeans. For the final call, Meeks–sans shirt–led the models down the runway with the designer himself, Philipp Plein. Everyone applauded, even though the collection was sub-par.
Last season, the 33-year-old Stockton, California native made his debut on the runway after going viral on the internet. Social media’s most – loved hot felon has become fashion’s newest sweetheart with top fashion editors like Carine Roitfeld embracing him. Fashion has always embraced wild childs – ahem, we’re pointing at Naomi Campbell who had her run in with the international federales at one point. And of course, who can forget about Winona Ryder?! Should the fashion community establish a partnership with Riker’s Islands. It’s no secret that these mens can’t find work after they do their time. Modeling is by far the easiest career where you don’t have to know how to read or write ( at least for some gigs). Moreover, Meeks just scored his first campaign gig with Phillip Plein for an undisclosed amount that is more likely to be at least six-figures.
