So, About Jay Z’s $850 Champagne…
Jay Z continues to add to his business portfolio and now he’s expanding his already-established champagne brand. In 2014, Jay Z became owner of the company, Armand de Brignac, and made Ace of Spades popular in the celebrity world.
The latest installment of Armand champagne will be Blanc de Noirs Assemblage Two, otherwise called A2. It will cost you $850 per bottle and this probably because the pinot noir grapes were picked from 2008, 2009 and 2010 vintages which have a “refreshing flavor.” This top of the line champagne will come to U.S. retailers on April 18.
Jay Z has shown to have a pretty good track record as a businessman and making things pop in pop culture.
Armand’s Chief Executive Officer, Sebastien Besson, echoed those sentiments telling Bloomberg, “Jay is a very strong businessman, certainly one that likes to understand what consumers want and here to build the business for the long term. He always has a few bottles on hand for a celebration, I know that for sure.”
Along with Blanc de Noirs, the company has launched three other champagnes, one called A1, which will cost you a little less than the A2 at $760. However, only 2, 333 A1 bottles will be made available for sale.
If you have the extra laying around, treat yourself to champagne.
