Happy Headline: The 10-year-old Entrepreneur

Convincing the “sharks” of  ABC’s Shark Tank to invest in your business is no easy task. But guess what? One 10-year-old entrepreneur did just that! Mikaila Ulmer of Austin, Texas is the founder of BeeSweet Lemonade. She recently appeared on the hit television show and impressed the “sharks” so much that she walked away with a whooping $60,000 in investments for her business.

Mikaila has always been different from the rest. At age four, she was brainstorming ways to be part of the Action Children’s Business Fair and Austin Lemonade Day. It all started with a bee sting. The pain, along with very supportive parents, encouraged Mikaila to research why bees were important to our ecosystem. Not long after, her great grandmother Helen mailed Makaila a 1940s cookbook containing her flaxseed lemonade recipe. Shortly after, BeeSweet Lemonade was born.

What makes Mikaila’s lemonade stand out from the rest is the fact that she sweetens each batch with honey from local bees instead of using sugar like most other recipes. Shark Tank investor Daymond John was sold on the BeeSweet pitch and handed over the $60,000 for a 25% stake in the company, according to Black Enterprise.

Now that’s a smart man because the sky’s the limit for this young entrepreneur!
