Fit Friday: 3 Ways to Incorporate Exercise

As a seasoned fitness professional, I think, “I don’t have enough time to workout” is one of the top excuses I’ve heard for folks giving up on fitness. Often my response is, “Have you made the time?”

It’s simple. We make time for the things that matter most. What I’ve found when I interview potential clients is that working out and eating healthy has been placed on the bottom of their priority list. As a mother of twins and business owner, I completely empathize with the challenges life presents. However, being healthy is ultimately what keeps us living a more fruitful life! Here are three great ways to abolish all of your excuses and to get on the right track.

1. Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone.

Find 30-60 minutes out of your day to do a physical activity. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or park further away from the store. In addition to the gym, there are great options when it comes to getting back in shape. A gym membership is cheaper than medicine. In a time where college loan debt and medical debts have become synonymous, people are often finding out the hard way about the importance of living healthy. Get comfortable with being  uncomfortable so that you can change your life!

2. Get Your Family Involved.

One of the best ways to ensure success during your health and wellness journey is by having a strong support system! Encourage your spouse to become your gym partner! Join your children outside during play time. These simple steps can help forge a stronger relationship with your partner and or children.

3. Stay committed to The Plan!

Life can easily distort our daily routines. That’s why it’s important to stay consistent with your workout and nutritional regimen despite this factor. If you miss the gym on Monday, then schedule a day to make it up! If you plan on attending the gym 5 days a week, then hold yourself accountable. We have to hold ourselves accountable in order to change. Once you’ve recognized your issue then you have the ability to fix it.

These 3 simple steps will help you factor fitness into your life. Once you make fitness a priority, getting in shape will become a way of life!
