Two food bloggers are calling out Kraft Macaroni and Cheese for using potentially dangerous food dyes in their product that gives the sauce its orange color. Lisa Leake and Vani Hari are asking the food company to stop its use of Yellow 5 and Yellow 6, which they say are “known carcinogens.”  They also claim the dyes are linked to both hyperactivity and allergies in children. The dyes are not found in European versions of the product.

“With these dyes potentially posing some risks we should be on the safe side and remove them,” Leake says.

Kraft insists that they only used approved colors deemed safe by the Food and Drug Administration.
