Chris Brown isn’t holding back in his new documentary, Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life. In fact, the hip-hop star is so open in his documentary that he explicitly details his relationships with both Karreuche Tran and Rihanna.
As for time spent with the “Umbrella” diva, Brown reflects on how they met, got together and subsequently said those three special words.
“We just became friends and kicking more,” he explains in the film. “And kicking [it], nothing too serious but we just had a good understanding of each other.”
Brown then goes on to detail how they got together and made it official.
“I remember staying over her house, and I was just like, ‘Man, what are we doing?’ She was like, ‘What do you mean? And I was like, ‘I am always over here and we like each other obviously, let’s just do it,” the star explains. “Let’s just be boyfriend and girlfriend …”
In the documentary, Brown says Rihanna was shocked at his request and even questioned his seriousness.
“She was like, ‘You ain’t serious! I don’t think you want to do that. … You ain’t ready.’ And I was like, ‘I am, I am ready for real … I think I love you!’ She was looking at me like, ‘What?’ Did I say the word?’”
We know the rest.
Brown’s documentary was released on June 8. Peep the trailer for Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life below:
