Chance the Rapper Gives Back to Chicago Once Again
Chance the Rapper is helping Chicago students in need.
The Grammy Award-winning lyricist and social activist has teamed up with STATE Bags for back-to-school season to donate 30,000 backpacks to children living in some of Chicago’s most underfunded neighborhoods.
“What too often gets lost in the negative narrative swirling around the city’s most underfunded and embattled communities is the undeniable love, hope and pride that is bursting from these very neighborhoods and the incredible, resilient kids living within them,” a press release announcing the initiative states. “This is the story STATE co-founders Scot and Jacq Tatelman have seen firsthand, and the one they are committed to sharing with the world.”
The backpacks will be distributed through Chance’s SocialWorks empowerment charity. He, along with Scot and Jacq Tatelman will hand out bags to thousands of Chicago children and their families at the Bud Billiken parade this Saturday.
Yet another reason why Chance the Rapper is someone to look up to.
