Fried Okra

Accompanying our ancestors during the Transatlantic Slave Trade, okra arrived in The New World and found great success in New Orleans and the rest of The South. One of the key ingredients in gumbo, this vegetable is usually breaded and fried, in either a nugget or, most recently, into fries to accompany quinoa burgers, tofu scrambles and protein shakes.
