10 Tell Tale Signs You Need A New Wardrobe

With every season, these questions must be asked.

The start of a new season, reigns in new questions that everyone must self reflect and ask themselves, do I need a new wardrobe?  Your closet has been drowning in dark clothing, there is animal hair on your favorite tee shirt, your underwear are ripped… honey, you need a new wardrobe.

Here are 10 tell tale signs you need a new wardrobe.

1.Your favorite denim doesn’t fit.

When your favorite pair of skinny jeans are too tight, you need to head to your local denim supplier for a pair of jeans. Nowadays, wearing super tight jeans are not the style, but affordable denim is trending so a budget of $100 or less can get you at least two good pairs!

2. Your garments are pilling and your cardigans are fuzzy looking.

You know those sweaters or cardigans that get those pesky “deaty balls” everywhere?  You could either take them to a cleaners to be restored or get rid of them.

3. Your white clothing has under arm stains on them.

Any white clothing with underarm stains are not presentable and should be discarded immediately.

4. You spend more time planning an outfit than going out to the actually event.

If it takes you a few days to a week to plan an  outfit,  it may be time to upgrade your wardrobe. Your wardrobe should consist of basic work causal and party wear.

5.  The inside linings of your blazers and coats are ripped.

Sometimes it costs more money to get the inside linings of your blazer and coats fixed than what you originally paid for it. If it’s not Brooks Brothers or Balmain, then just replace the entire coat.

6. Your leather is peeling.

First off, if your leather is peeling then it’s not real leather. No restoration project can save it. Faux leather is completely fine. It just has a lifespan.

7. Every time you look at your wardrobe you get upset.

If you become deeply disturbed every time you examine your wardrobe, then you need a new wardrobe. It’s always good to freshen up your wardrobe every six to eight weeks by adding basic items like white collared shirts and blouses, a pair of black jeans, a few colorful scarves, and hats to make it more valuable.

8. You are missing basic statement items.

If you are missing statement items like a trench coat, a pair of black jeans, a nice blazer, a little black dress, or a suit, then you may need to rethink your wardrobe essentials. These are investment pieces that will carry you through the years.

9.  Your toddler neighbor dresses better than you.

Nowadays, toddlers have amazing style and can indulge in the trends just as much as adults. If your toddler neighbor is rocking the trends better than you, it’s time for a new wardrobe. Always be open to wearing at least one trend of the season!
