Happy Headline: Facebook Launches Amber Alert
Locating missing children could now be one step easier.
In an innovative move, Facebook has implemented an Amber Alert system in the U.S., that will help notify users of missing children who may be in their area.
Working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Facebook, Inc. will issue mobile alerts if they are in a search area where a child has been abducted. The notices will include a photo of the missing child and a description.
There is already proof this could be a game changer. Last March, an 11-year-old female was found in a South Carolina motel room after a motel clerk saw an Amber Alert on Facebook and called the police.
