3 Tech Tools to Help Manage Wedding Guests
Welcome to Wedding Wisdom! Every week, wedding planner Tami Smallwood-Brown, CEO of blush|WEDDING & EVENT PLANNING FIRM gives tips to help you plan your dream nuptials from engagement to “I do.” This week, Tami shares a few cool sites to help manage guests and their expectations.
I come across all types of websites in my line of work—some not so good and some that are great. Below are some of my faves for managing guests and alleviating your woes trying to impress them.
Ensuring your wedding guests have a great time is one of the biggest causes of wedding planning anxiety for couples…until now. Enter Guesterly.
The tech site’s offerings have been described as a cross between Facebook and Martha Stewart’s Weddings and I could not agree more. Guesterly allows you to design a wedding directory—as a way to introduce your guests to each other—in a magazine format and create a sense of community before the Big Day.
At roughly $5 for each book, your magazine will make a great item to include in welcome bags.
This online retailer has streamlined group travel, making booking blocks rooms so much easier. Long gone are the days of calling around town in search of good rates on a block or room for your out-of-town guests.
So, how does it work? Simple. Enter your dates and city, then choose your favorite four hotels. You will be assigned a dedicated travel advisor to setup all the arrangements for you and answer any questions—even after the booking is complete.
The service is free and don’t forget that booking in blocks can save on the room rates. Jetaport says you can save up to 75 percent on hotel rooms.
In a world filled with wedding websites, this one stands above the rest. Squarespace offers a web creation platform with beautiful templates to help the design-challenged couple.
You can have a great wedding website without finding a host, or having the design skills needed to make your site a work of art. Like most wedding sites, guests can have access to your engagement story, registry, info on wedding events and photos, at your discretion.
Subscriptions begin at $8 each month and include round-the-clock customer support. No need to worry if your guests can access the site from their phone or tablet. Squarespace is available on Apple and Android.
