Veronica Buapim & Wes Güity

Venue: Christian Federation Ministries in Bronx, NY

Honeymoon: None

Home: Bronx, NY

Veronica is an events coordinator at Black Enterprise magazine. Wes is a web designer at Cool Journey Studios, LLC. The best friends met in 2009 but did not begin a relationship until four years later. Both knew after just six months of dating that they had found their lifelong partner. When Wes traveled with Veronica and her family to Ghana, he saw her father for the first time and asked for his blessing. The soul mates wed three weeks later and say they are “assured that their love, even with its ups and downs, will never die out.”

He knew he was in love when…

On June 5th, 2013, he looked at Veronica as if for the first time, and he knew that things would never be the same.

She knew she was in love when…

She decided to write Wes a love letter. She was on her way back from a business trip, and while writing she was filled with so much emotion. Above the clouds, flying thousand of miles, it hit her right then, that she was in love with her best friend.

In 10 years we will…

Be celebrating our ten-year anniversary, with three or four kids. Still living in New York, successfully in the middle of our careers.

Before the groom got married, he wishes someone had told him…

To have a taxi budget. His wife is truly a city girl!

Before the bride got married, she wishes someone had told her…

There was no need to join a gym because she would be picking up after her husband!

Our favorite activity to do together is…

Try out new recipes in our kitchen.

Our nicknames for each other are…

“Babe” because it came naturally. They also like to call each other “Husband” and “Wife” in public.

Our favorite place to spend time together is…

Wherever we both are. We make everything an experience.

Our song is…

“Love on Top” by Beyonce.

Our perfect date night is…

A home-made dinner lit by candlelight followed by dessert and slow dancing to our playlist on Spotify.
