Hey, I’m all for something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue, but there are some wedding traditions that the world can do without.

Below are six wedding favorites and alternatives.  Check them out and don’t be afraid to break free for your big day:

1. The bouquet toss: Almost all of my friends are married already, so I’d rather not draw unnecessary attention toward “all my single ladies.”

Alternative: Consider an anniversary dance where the couple who has been married the longest receives the traditional toss bouquet. It’s a simple, yet sweet gesture. And who knows … maybe their longevity will rub off on you and your spouse?
