Plastic Surgery for Engagement Ring Selfies?

From juice cleanses to Botox, brides are taking drastic measures to make sure they’re picture perfect on their Big Day. But when is it too much?

While scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed earlier this week, I saw a post from The Knot about women getting plastic surgery…on their hands! Yes, you read that correctly.

According to a New York doctor, a hand lift “restores lost volume in your hands, making them look younger and fuller.” The procedure, which costs around $1,200, lasts nine months and has apparently risen in popularity because of engagement ring selfies, wherein a newly engaged woman shows off her sparkly new bling.

For the record, I have zero plans to partake in any of that craziness. Nor will you catch me drinking nothing but juice for 10 days. No shade to other brides who want results fast, but I just prefer a more natural method to maintaining the weight I’m at now by eating more healthily (or at least attempting to) and incorporating more cardio into my workouts.

Because at the end of the day, all that matters is you’re married–not whether you gained or lost 5 or 15 pounds between your engagement and your wedding day.

I’m really hoping “hand lifts” don’t become a new trend, but only time will tell.
