Chasmin Debnam & Kenneth Johnson

Venue: Second Empire in Raleigh, NC

Honeymoon: Maui, Hawaii

Home: Rolesville, NC

• Chasmin is a claims loss mitigation auditor for Genworth Financial. Kenneth is a retired US Marine Corps staff sergeant. The pair knew they were meant to be together when Kenneth was stationed in Texas for a year and the distance was insuferable. He relocated to North Carolina permanently and the newlyweds have remained inseparable.

He knew he was in love when…

He would drive 130 miles to see her every day and get up before dawn the next day to be at work by 7:00 a.m.

She knew she was in love when…

Kenny accepted a military contract in El Paso, TX and I could not live without him.  A year later he relocated back to NC.

In 10 years we will…

Still be keeping God first, madly in love, happily married, traveling and enjoying life on our way to great prosperity!

Before the groom got married he wishes someone had told him…

That life would be so fulfilling once you find your soulmate.

Before the bride got married, she wishes someone had told her…

To keep the faith and that every day has the ability to be better than the former. It is possible for God to bless you in finding your soulmate—your true life partner.

Our favorite activity to do together is…

Travel! In the past year we have gone to Atlantic City, New Jersey; Richmond, Virginia; a Nascar race; Mississippi; DC; Maryland; and a NFL football game and we are looking forward to Hawaii later this year! When we are not traveling we like to cuddle up at home and watch Netflix!

Our nicknames for each other are…

“Shawty,” because when we first met Kenny thought I might be taller than him, but he still wanted to consider himself taller than me! When I don’t call him “Baby” I call him “my KBJ” because those are his initials, and it sounds cool…just like he is!

Our favorite place to spend time together is…

Cuddled up with each other at home.

Our song is…

“Marry Me” by Train.  This is the song that played in a restaurant we visited right before Kenny left for El Paso for a year for his military contract. It is also the song that I walked down the aisle to.

Our perfect date night is…

Going out for a movie and coming home to relax on the screened-in back porch and sipping wine on a moonlit night.
