Tell us your love story: Bride: James and I knew of each other through his twin brother, who I knew first because I interned for him at a community college. At the time, I was currently with someone else and it wasn’t until a couple of years later when we officially met at a love event James was hosting at his church for Valentines Day. There was a candy table in the back that brought us together. We exchanged a few words that night, which months later started long conversations and eventually going on dates.
When did you know that your partner was the one? Bride: I always had thoughts of him possibly being the one when we were just talking as friends, but the day he asked me to be his girlfriend, I knew he was the one and we would get married. Groom: I knew she was the one after our date in downtown Austin, Texas. After several hours of conversation that night, I felt this feeling of completeness.
What was your most memorable moment from your wedding day? Bride: Him seeing me come down the aisle in my dress for the first time. I was trying to hold back tears. When we were introduced during the reception and of course our first dance were my favorite moments. Groom: Dancing down the aisle at the reception. Her smile and the way we felt as a married couple was truly remarkable.
What’s the key to success in your relationship? Bride: God. We put him first before us, before anything. We started as friends and build that foundation of love with no strings attached. We allowed God to direct our path in finding each other. Finding a real love that wasn’t blind. It will continue in our marriage as well. Groom: God. Being her close friend and getting to know her was an amazing experience. We truly got to know each other without the pressure and in return brought us so close.
