Edwin Hodge is Ready To Thrill

Go sing and dance. That’s the advice Samuel L. Jackson gave a young Edwin Hodge. They met in 1995 on the set of Die Hard: With a Vengeance when Hodge was about 10. “Jackson’s probably one of my greatest influences,” says the now 28-year-old, recently seen in NCIS: Los Angeles. “He said if I wanted to be an artist, I should do musical theatre. I didn’t really understand why, but on opening night I figured it out: I couldn’t mess up, so I learned to work diligently.”
It’s a longtime trait in the New Jersey native, who told his parents at age 3, “I want to be on TV.” After landing his first big-screen part alongside Mr. Jackson, Hodge and his family— including his mom; brother, Aldis, who is also an actor; and younger sister— moved to LA. Once in Tinseltown, the teen began raking up gigs like 7th Heaven and Big Momma’s House.
